Our desire is to bring you the best food in terms of quality, nutrition and value. We do not mark up our prices excessively like many other mail order businesses. A result of this policy is that we don't hide the cost of shipping in the price of our products. Therefore, shipping is somewhat higher than other businesses, especially those who offer free shipping. There is no such thing as free shipping. What you are getting is prices inflated enough to cover the cost of the shipping.
Unfortunately, the brunt of shipping costs are in getting the package out the door, regardless of weight.Consequently, the more you buy at a time, the lower your shipping cost is for the amount of product you buy. As an example, it may cost $10 or more just to have a honey bear shipped to you. If you add a few pounds of cheese to that order and more honey, the shipping may only increase a couple of dollars. We base the shipping charge on a one pound basis, making shipping cost very reasonable spread over more weight.
For non-perishable products like honey, all orders are shipped UPS ground. If you add perisable items like cheese, shipping is a bit more complicated. In the warmer months, we line the box with insulation and add frozen gel-packs to keep the cheese nice and cool. If you live in a Western state more than three days from Glasgow, Kentucky (via UPS ground), we use UPS 3rd day air. Everything is calculated automatically for you, but if you are having a cheese shipment sent to a Western state during warmer weather, you will naturally see a shipping price signifcantly higher.
We hope that our shipping policy makes sense to you. We fully stand by our products. If you for any reason you are unsatisfied with your purchase, we will make it right with you. Contact information will be included with your receipt.
Thank you for patronage.
